已經連6場無失分的王建民，終於獲得皇家教練團的實質肯定，也代表他的牛棚地位逐漸提升，今天(31日)皇家在只領先4分的情況下，派王建民登板關門，顯示球隊已經將他從敗戰處理的角色，晉升到勝利組的位子，相較於4月份的跌跌撞撞，王建民在5月份，不但出場數增加，整個月自責分率也只有1.46。
打完8局皇家只領先4分，很多人以為王建民應該不會上場了，但是九局上半看到的是王建民，這是他2016年僅僅第3次，在領先的情況下登板，而且是第1次在差距這麼小的情況下出場，顯示王建民在牛棚的地位已經逐漸提升。
因為王建民最近的表現的越來越好，除了球速增加到可以維持在94英里，而且也越來越適應中繼的角色。
王建民最近連續6場出賽沒有失分，總共投了7.1局只被擊出3支安打，有6次三振只有2次四壞球保送，內容非常精采。
此外，王建民在5月份的表現也比4月好非常多，甚至可以說是皇家隊的福將，因為他出現好幾場的逆轉勝。
5月王建民總共出賽10場，拿下3勝0敗，自責分率只有1.46，4月只出賽6場，而且幾乎都是在落後的情況下上來，0勝0敗，自責分率3.68。
從一開始，都是在大比分差的情況之下登板，或是經常一個星期，最長曾經到8天都沒出場機會，到現在王建民是最近8天出賽4場，而且上場時比數差距也比過去越來越小，顯示教練團對他的信任也在逐漸增加，因此只要王建民維持好表現，也可以慢慢的朝皇家牛棚勝利組的成員邁進。（民視新聞陳建君、王泰棋綜合報導）
